TL;DR
For the first time, ordinary people with a brokerage account may soon be able to buy a piece of one of the companies building the most advanced AI. Anthropic, the maker of the Claude models, filed on Oct. 26 to list its shares on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. Until now, the money behind the top AI labs has come from a small circle of private investors, such as the backers of Anthropic's reported $65 billion round in May. A listing would open that door to pension funds, index funds and individual savers, and it would force the company to publish its finances where anyone can check them. The first secondhand summaries of the filing describe a company losing far more than it earns, and none of the numbers has been confirmed.
